GamerSparc OS

Power on. Pick up a controller.

GamerSparc OS is a Linux gaming system that starts in Steam Big Picture at login. It's what makes a refurbished PC feel like a console — with the whole PC library behind it.

Boots to Steam Big Picture

Power on and you're in the couch-friendly Steam interface. No desktop, no updates nagging you first.

Controller-ready

Plug in or pair a controller and drive the whole thing from the couch. Keyboard and mouse work too.

Windows games via Proton

Steam's Proton compatibility layer runs many Windows games. Wine is included for non-Steam titles. Not every game works; check before you buy.

A full desktop when you want it

Switch to desktop mode for a browser, Discord, streaming apps or schoolwork. It's a complete Linux system.

No license fees

Built on open-source Linux software, with no OS license fee and no ads. System updates come from the Linux distribution's repositories and Steam updates from Valve.

Light on old hardware

A lightweight system with little running in the background, so more of an older PC's resources go to your games.

Questions

Will my game run on GamerSparc OS?
Many single-player and multiplayer Steam games run through Proton, but not all. You can check a specific title on ProtonDB, or just ask us — we'll test it before you buy.
What about games with anti-cheat?
Some online games use anti-cheat that blocks Linux. If your must-play game is one of them, choose the Windows option and we'll set the PC up with Windows instead.
Do I need a Steam account?
Yes, to use the Steam library you sign in with your own (free) Steam account on first boot, under Valve's terms. Games already in your account come with you if they run on Linux or through Proton. No games are included with the PC.
Can I use other launchers or emulators?
Yes. Desktop mode gives you a full Linux system, and the RetroSparc community covers free games and legal emulation.
Can I switch to Windows later?
Yes. Bring it to the counter and we can talk through installing Windows on it.
